What should I wear?

For our ceremony and reception, we suggest cocktail beach wedding attire — aka what you might wear to a nice dinner on the beach. Because our ceremony is by the water, with a short walk across the sand, we strongly recommend not wearing heels and going barefoot/wearing sandals until everyone migrates over to the cocktail hour and reception at Casa Mariposa.

What’s the weather like in November?

Gorgeous, hopefully! In November on South Padre, the temperature should be mild ‘n’ breezy and will likely average around 77 degrees. You’ll probably be able to wear shorts and T-shirts during the day, but may want a light sweater at night.

How do I get around?

South Padre Island is small — but not walkably small. Uber and Lyft are easily accessible. For maximum ease in getting around, renting a car is probably your best option. However, we suggest carpooling whether you’re renting a car or using a rideshare app, as available taxis and parking aren’t endless.

Where will I be?

South Padre Island is part of the Rio Grande Valley aka the Magic Valley, a border region at the southernmost tip of the state that begins with the town of Roma to the West and ends just beyond Brownsville at South Padre Island. It’s an area of the country unlike any other, and it’s very fun to explore if you find yourself with time to do so. Kelsey grew up in the Mission/McAllen area, and if you would like recommendations for travel beyond Padre Island, please ask her! :-)

Are children invited?

Yes!

Do you have a registry?

No! Anyone traveling to our wedding has already given us a big gift! Please do not worry about bringing anything.
